Welcome to Charleville Vet Surgery

Nurturing bonds, enriching lives

About Us

Welcome to Charleville Vet Surgery, where we have been caring for your animals for over 25 years.  There have been a few changes in ownership over this time, but our passion for what we do and our commitment to our community remains the same!

Located 5 minutes north of Charleville (heading toward Augathella), our team of experienced vets, nurses, and receptionists strive to create a place where every pet receives personalised care in a warm, welcoming environment, and every client feels valued and supported.

Our Mission...

Our mission is to create a supportive and engaging work environment that empowers our employees to unleash their full potential so that we can deliver outstanding services to the community and their animals.

Our Vision...

We envision becoming a leading provider of compassionate, high-quality care for animals, where both pets and their owners feel welcomed and supported. We strive to continually enhance our knowledge and skills, and to create a positive impact on the wider community through education and outreach.

Our Values...

We uphold the values of compassion, commitment, teamwork, and positive impact. These values guide us in providing exceptional care and making a difference in the lives of our patients, clients, and community.

Meet Our Team

Dr Terri Eckel
Veterinarian / Owner

What Terri didn't tell you...

  • Terri has two kids (don't worry she will tell you about them when you come in - please don't ask for pictures)!

  • Terri first worked for CVS (as a dog washer/trainee nurse) when she was about 13!

  • She graduated in 2010, and has nearly 14 years in mixed practice experience. She is extremely passionate about all things vetting and is always keen to learn new skills!

Meagan Dempster
Receptionist / Chief Animal Adopter

What Meagan didn't tell you...

  • She got roped into working at CVS in 2022, after she called up after hours about her sick dog.  She can't really leave now, due to the amount of stray / needy / cute animals she has adopted while working here!

  • Her superpower is her understanding and compassion for clients and colleagues, and nothing is ever too much to ask for Meagan.

  • She is fast becoming the organiser in our clinic - trying her best to keep us all in line!

Maddie King
Vet Nurse (Cert 4 in progress)

What Maddie didn't tell you...

  • Well, lots - because she hasn't done her video yet :)

  • Maddie loves to have fun with her friends (especially since she turned 18), riding horses, winning champion hack at our local show in 2024!

  • She is great to work with (luckily, because she's been here since 2020) and she very kind to the animals, often getting busted sneaking treats, talking to them a lot and giving them cuddles.

Chelsea Reid
Cert 4 Vet Nurse

What Chels didn't tell you...

  • She is a go-getter with a can-do attitude, she chips in everywhere she can, is a quick learner, and is always thinking ahead.

  • Chelsea is definitely downplaying how much she loves her motorbike - she is faster around the barrels than a horse these days!!

  • Her other hobbies include going to the gym, looking after her beaut sausage dog Sadie and going home for the weekend to her family in Eulo.

Dr Emma Young
Veterinarian

What Em didn't tell you...

  • She is happiest at the back end of a cow / bull or zipping around town on her road bike.

  • She is likely the cheeriest member of our team and clearly wears her love of her job on the outside!!

  • She has been working at CVS since graduating in 2021 from JCU.

  • She will also collect any spare animals, especially if they are lambs or kids!
